Today I speak with Dr. Kimberley Johnson, PhD, a psychologist who works with a range of perinatal and reproductive health concerns, including PMADs, perinatal trauma and loss, pelvic floor conditions, infertility, and reproductive transitions. Her research is primarily centered on childbirth-related pelvic floor injuries and conditions and intersections with mental health. In addition to enhancing evidence-based mental health treatment and resources for those with pelvic floor conditions, she is passionate about improving patient-provider communication patterns surrounding pelvic floor symptoms during pregnancy and the postpartum period. Alongside her professional work, she is the mother of two young children and enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, and Nordic skiing with her family.
