Return to Run Research with Dr. Rita Deering
Today I speak with Dr. Rita Deering, DPT. She primarily studies abdominal muscle function after childbirth, along with return to exercise (with emphasis on running) after childbirth. Dr. Deering is now an Assistant Professor at Carroll University, where she teaches Neuroscience, Exercise Physiology, and Evidence into Practice. She has conducted extensive research in neuromuscular function in postpartum females, and also reviews research on postpartum exercise and rehabilitation for multiple journals.
She tells us why she decided to go back for her PhD and how this research interested her. Rita is at the forefront of this type of research and she shares so much of her finding with us! Both the mom and professional can appreciate this conversation. You don’t want to miss it!
We talk about:
